Old Town

Ploce and Pile

Other areas that are only about a ten minute walk from Old Town, but that are much quieter are Pile and Ploce.  Ploce is very elite and has a beautiful view of the ocean.  It is also quite close to Banje Beach.  Ploce is filled with beautiful apartments as well as having two five star hotels which are the Excelsior and Argentina.  Pile has the five star Hilton Hotel as well as many very nice apartments.

Lapad

 Another very beautiful region of Dubrovnik, is the peninsula area of Lapad.  This region tends to be overlooked by many visitors because it is not within walking distance of Old Town.  However, it is only ten minutes by bus and is surrounded by beaches, serene wooded areas and less expensive hotels and private accommodations.

Surrounding Areas

 If you are a visitor that enjoys more peace and quiet and does not mind driving into town, we might suggest Zaton, Orasac, Peljesac to the North or one of the islands that are accessible by ferry such as Kolocep, Lopud, Sipan ,Mljet or Korcula.

To the South, there is Mlini, Plat,Cavtat,  and Konavle.

Cavtat is actually another small resort area with many restaurants and also has an active night life.  It attracts many of the mega yachts that visit the region each summer.  It is also only about fifteen minutes from  Dubrovnik 

 The region that is the most South is Konavle.  It is also only fifteen to thirty minutes from  Dubrovnik  and is known for its wine vineyards and beautiful Tuscany like setting.  Like Tuscany, it is developing a reputation for its secluded villas with pools.

Konavle is close to the border of Montinegro and also has the beach resort area of Molunat.  Molunat is a small fishing village that has beaches, restaurants and cafes and many private accommodations.
