The 61st annual Dubrovnik Summer Festival is scheduled to begin July 10 and run through August 25, 2010. The festival is made up of a collection of different plays that take place all over Dubrovnik. Some are outside by the water, or on the Island of Locrum or even in a medieval castle high on the hill. Every year visitors flock to this festival from all over the world. On opening night, there are fireworks and an outdoor presentation. After that, young and old alike stay out until dawn visiting the various cafes, pubs and discos. The whole festival is very much one big party.
